This grill is currently holding the title for best mini raclette grill because there really aren’t any consistent contenders with mini grills still available – at least for purchase in the U.S. Even so, this grill is a worthy contender because it does well to serve the basic needs of this category.
I highly recommend every raclette enthusiast gets thir hands on a mini grill for the flexibility this device provides to allow you to have the intimate 2-person raclette (allowing more space for food staging on the table) and is a quick easy add-on to a larger dinner party where you’re using a party-sized grill but you have a party of 8 people. This, because, as I’ve stated many times before, the advertized 8-person party grills are really only ideal for parties up to 6 people even though they have 8 broiler pans.
Having a mini racklette with an aluminum grill top and a party grill also gives you more options if someone in your party has special dietary restrictions such as iron (if your party grill has a cast iron top) or allowing a grill surface to be free of any seafood juices if your guest has a shrimp or other seafood allergy to food being cooked on your party grill.
It’s also an ideal grill to start with if you’re an individual or couple wanting to experiment with raclette style meals on your own before hosting a larger raclette party. An earlier version of this very mini grill facilitated my own foray into the raclette world.
